I am a graduate student working on my MPH in epidemiology and am applying to medical school this June. I joined this listserv at the suggestion of my advisor after conveying my interest in family practice and rural medicine.
It was a wonderful idea. I have learned so much from the discussions and can't wait to further explore some of the suggested websites and material when I finish the MCAT next month. You were right to encourage students to join this listserv. It is very important to provide an environment where the student feels part of a community that truly does care about their work and the people they serve. I am encouraged by the prevailing sentiment of compassion and commitment that comes through the people that are part of this site. Prospective medical students have so many questions and are only
looking for someone to give them honest, thoughtful answers. I am grateful for having been exposed to this wonderful source of information and experience.
